Jackie Slaght : January 25, 2018 8:59 am : In The headlines, News, Schueler News

Carrollton, Kentucky – Tractor Supply Company has begun construction in Carrollton. Construction on the store, located at 324 Floyd Drive, began late December with a goal of opening in the spring.

Tractor Supply will serve as a one-stop shop for the Carrollton community’s farmers, livestock and pet owners, ranchers, part-time and hobby farmers, gardeners, homeowners, tradesmen and others.

The Carrollton Tractor Supply plans to hire 12 to 15 employees with firsthand knowledge and expertise in caring for pets, livestock and land.

“We’re not just building a store, we’re building a team that understands the needs of the Carrollton community,” said District Manager Ben Gillette. “At Tractor Supply, we carry products that support the lifestyle our customers lead, the land they own and the animals in their care, so whether you are someone who raises horses and pets, runs a hobby farm or just enjoys the rural lifestyle, we’ll be there to make sure you have all the tools you need.”

At the store, customers will be able to shop a wide selection of products at a great value including workwear and boots, tractor and trailer parts and accessories, lawn and garden supplies, sprinkler and irrigation parts, power tools, fencing, welding and pump supplies, riding mowers and more. The Carrollton store will also carry a wide variety of food and supplies for pets, equine and livestock, as well as a pet wash station where customers will have access to professional grade wash bays, grooming tables and tools.

The Tractor Supply team will also seek to support pet adoption initiatives, 4-H and FFA, county fairs and livestock shows.

Bunnell Hill Construction will construct the 19,097-square-foot retail space. The store plans include a sales floor, external support service area and pet wash station.

The store opening, which is expected to occur in the spring, will kick off with a four-day Grand Opening celebration, during which customers can sign up for Tractor Supply’s new Neighbor’s Club loyalty program. By registering, members will receive member-only offers, birthday offers, personal purchase summaries and receipt-free returns.

Define Institute of Beauty Cosmetology School opens in Springdale

Jackie Slaght : December 7, 2017 3:40 pm : In The headlines

Founder/President of Define Institute of Beauty and Coelrain resident, Candace Matsuda, launched the Define Institute of Beauty cosmetology school in Springdale, Ohio, this month. The school is located at 11489 Princeton Pike, and its first class is scheduled for January 15th. It will offer a well-rounded curriculum focused on Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Tech programming. Matsuda purchased and rehabbed the space, which formerly served as the location of Regency Beauty Institute before it closed along with 79 campuses nationwide in 2016.

“In celebration of our launch, Define Institute of Beauty will be offering cosmetology and esthetics programs at half the cost of other beauty schools in the area. The nail tech program will also be offered at a special rate.”

Define Institute of Beauty’s instructors will include Donna Schneider, Erica Boggs and McKayla Grimes, who together offer a combined total of nearly 50 years of teaching experience in respective Cosmetology and/or Esthetics fields. It is still hiring.

“We are happy to welcome Define Institute of Beauty to the City of Springdale,” said Springdale Mayor Doyle Webster. “Their convenient location near I-275 and the many nearby restaurants and stores make this an ideal place for students to train for careers in cosmetology.”

A passionate and motivated individual, Candace Matsuda has dedicated her life and career to beauty. Breaking into the industry at the age of 21, Candace began working as a freelance make-up artist for Clinique. She has since travelled the globe, training with world-renowned celebrity make-up artists, both perfecting her art and building a diverse portfolio. With clients ranging from bridal groups, models, nationally recognized magazines, celebrities, Olympic athletes, television shows and motion pictures, Candace’s portfolio reflects her extensive experience.

Eager to gain skills in beauty, Candace went onto become a certified MAC make-up artist and graduate of The Makeup Artist Workshop, in addition to becoming a Licensed Esthetician. Alongside her make-up career and travelling the world, Candace has also established and successfully runs her own bridal business, Style Squad and Day Spa, Define Skin Care and Esthetics.

Matsuda escaped a difficult and poverty-stricken upbringing by delving through magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire and Elle – a passion that eventually led to a lifelong love for the beauty industry. She accredits overcoming challenges to achieve success as part of her motivation to help her students do the same.

Define Skin Care and Esthetics was founded in 2013 and has since developed a full skincare and makeup line. In 2017 Define expanded again and created Define Institute of Beauty to deliver quality education and products to aspiring estheticians, nail technicians and cosmetologists. Define is currently working on developing a line of hair care products
