He joined the Schueler Group of Companies in 2002. Joe focuses upon developing complex real estate projects that involve large land transactions, public infrastructure funding, and attractive incentive programs. His career began in the early 1970’s as a Foreign Service Officer at the American Embassy in Bonn, in the former West Germany. In the early 1980's he returned to his native Cincinnati to head up the regional economic development programs of the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. He has worked with local officials from Mason, OH to Northern Kentucky to attract investment from the U.S., Japan and Western Europe. He has also managed the operations of the Greater Cincinnati Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) that sponsored operations by Honda, Ashland Oil, General Electric and other major firms. Joe is skilled at assembling a development project involving complex parts, such as tax increment financing, foreign-trade zone status, and State/local tax incentives. He has successfully combined landowners, government officials and corporate clients together to make deals work for everyone involved.
